I don't know if any of you have seen this before but I was just searching on Yahoo! and I noticed in the description of one of the listings there was two sub-page links labelled as quick links, check out the listing @ no.9:

I was a bit off the ball with that one aye, any idea on how you get em? Is it like Google site links - only for authorities or something?

I think they are for authorities.

Hmmm...interesting.
How do they define authority? |

Yahoo Search Submit Pro allows you to specify what quicklinks you want to appear under your ad.

Can you show us a screen capture of that in action?

Search Submit Pro URLs have a redirect embedded in the search result. For example, a search for Sony turns up Sony.com as the first result, with a clickthrough URL that does not contain any redirect.
In contrast, the 2nd result is for SonyStyle, and has a clickthrough URL that contains a redirect through rdrw1.yahoo.com rather than directly to sonystyle.com which indicates this is a Search Submit Pro result. If you look at the quicklinks, e.g. VAIO Notebooks the rdrw1.yahoo.com redirect string appears again. Not all quicklinks are the result of search submit pro though, for example Wikipedia entries frequently have Quicklinks. Further down the same search results page, you can see that result #6, the Wikipedia Entry for Sony, has quicklinks that do not contain the redirect. This might be because Wikipedia is an authority site, as previously theorized. |
