I have a question regarding one of the Google Webmaster's Guideline point:
"Keep the links on a given page to a reasonable number (fewer than 100)" Does Google counts links marked with nofolow?? For example I have a webpage with 120 links and 40 of them are marked with nofolow, so what Google consider? 80 links or 120 links?? Kindly share your thoughts! |

In my opinion Google will not consider nofollow links. Well this is not hard and fast rule of 100 links it is just a advice from Google. Google crawl the pages having more than 100 links you can see all links in cache also.

Google does not ignore links that are no followed. it still indexes them it just doesn't credit it with being a link from your site or anywhere.
Also the 100 is simply a guideline, if you want to see the irony count the number of links on the google advice page , last time I did I counted over 140 ![]() |

You only have to look at forum and blogs ect..
The main reason imho that its suggested to have less than 100 is due to give and page a focus in what its linking too..

Are you saying Google isn't powerful and mighty enough to crawl more than a 100 links on a page? ;-)

Would Google object to a page that has hundreds of links, linking to itself using anchors?
