Danny Sullivan posted an SEW blog entry named A Picture Says 1000 Words About Google's Censorship In China where he shows a search on "tiananmen" at Google Images China versus Google Images.
![]() He also notes if you misspell it you get through the filter (some images may be disturbing). They have a forum thread on the topic at large at http://forums.searchenginewatch.com/...?threadid=9786 Just makes me feel sick ![]()

Barry:
Those pictures are very powerful and very telling. I had a couple of quick reactions; This is one more of a great myriad of issues that I find disturbing but I choose not to act upon (I can only do so much and keep my sanity) Thought a bit more and these visuals speak to the incredible power of control over the media, the ability to rewrite history, etc. That is scary...especially when you are rewriting history for over 1 billion people. Thanks for sharing the information. DAve |

These images stir up quite a bit of emotion with me as well.
First I am filled with anger. We should have evolved pass this. I am then filled with curiosity. I wonder what their version of truth is vs. ours. I am then filled with a deep disappointment for our species as a whole. Hitler and Joseph Goebbels showed the western world the true power of a properly executed propaganda campaign. |
