I'm surprised it took this long for someone to finally do this. Will they win? Probably not. But it's definitely going to get interesting from here on out.

Wonder if it is a Client Banned by an SEO? This may not be a WIN or LOSE type Action It may be a Policy-Tweaking action Read the controversial posts that Search Engines Web made on you know who's blog. If empathy or compassion does NOT compell a revision of a POWERFUL Blanket Policy then litigation is the only recourse. |

These guys better be ready for a fight because Google can afford some pretty good attorneys. The folks behind this case must confess that the web has risks just like any other biz area and when you go in to risky ground you need to have a back up plan. In the end these people will probably look like fools.

Hmm they claim the received 10MM pageviews a month (which is complete nonsense first of all) but alexa's reports tell a different story:
http://traffic.alexa.com/graph?w=379...rstart.com/&u= That's for one year. Even with Alexa's inaccuracies their pageviews should have been much higher than that. They are getting more traffic NOW than they ever had. I have a huge ass site and even I dont get 10MM pageviews. If I compare my site to theirs I destroy them on that chart. They are probabaly counting all the spider requests ![]() Google is just going to request their server logs for proof and that will be the end of that court case.

This case will go nowhere IMO. But maybe all they wanted was the publicity in which case they have succeeded. I doubt they ever really think they can win a case like this with blatant lies such as the 10MM pageviews statement.
Although I would like if Google was to get a kick up the butt regarding the area of keeping webmasters in the dark. If we know exactly what we are doing wrong then we can resolve it. In the majority of cases we don't have a clue. |
