Just want to make everyone aware of the experience I just had with my first check.. I got the check today and was very happy since I didn't expect it until the 20th.. However the check was made out to my user name.. How can I cash that???? Well I called and talked to a rep and now I have to mail the check back with a note to ask them to correct it... He said it was human error however We both discovered that under my account details I had it set up with my name and left the business section blank since it is not required and the check wasn't going to a business.. To save yourself some hastle put your name in the business name section if you do not have a business that it is being mailed to. This will prompt the check to be made out to you... Hope this saves others some hassle so they don't have to go through what I just did.

Thank you VermontWebmaster for bringing this topic up.
First, I’d like to introduce myself, I work within Yahoo for the Publisher Network and Search Marketing group. I frequently monitor message boards like these and post to help answer questions as best I can. Congrats to Barry for setting up this new forum! I'd like to clarify how Yahoo! determines the payee name to include on Yahoo! Publisher Network payments. When you sign up to be a publisher in the Yahoo! Publisher Network, one of the first things you do is fill out an Account Information tab with your name (first and last), company name and web site URL. We make our payment checks out to the name listed under "Company Name." If you do not represent a company or cannot cash a check with that company name on it, please enter your first and last name in that field. I apologize for the confusion - we will be updating the language on this site tab soon to make this more clear. Rest assured, we do not use your user name on your check. We value our publisher feedback and really do listen to your suggestions, so please continue to post your thoughts here. YahooSarah |

Thank you YahooSarah for the update. It is important that people realise this to avoid future problems with checks... Yahoosarah I would like to take the opportunity to thank you for being here as a rep for YPN. I have noticed that yahoo is getting more and more involved with people such as yourself being in the SEO forums to answer questions. That is very important to SEO's such as myself. The personal touch means alot and please stay here and keep us updated......
Thanks again Vermontwebmaster |
